Terms and Conditions: Warranty Extension for SWISS MILITARY HANOWA Timepieces

By enrolling online at www.swissmilitary.ch, customers can take advantage of an exclusive warranty extension, enhancing the standard three-year coverage to a substantial five-year term.  The terms and conditions, exclusions, limitations, and prerequisites of the initial three-year warranty shall remain in effect and continue to be applicable throughout the entire duration of the warranty, encompassing the extension period.

This extended warranty of two years exclusively addresses potential factory-related defects concerning the watch movements.

As is customary with warranties of this nature, the SWISS MILITARY HANOWA warranty extension is subject to specific terms and conditions. Though nothing in these terms and conditions affects your rights as a consumer under applicable local law.

Eligibility: Customers who have acquired a SWISS MILITARY HANOWA timepiece within the last three years from the official announcement date are eligible to apply for this extended warranty, subject to the watch's existing warranty status. It is important to note that the acquisition of the SWISS MILITARY HANOWA warranty extension is contingent upon a formal application process, which may result in non-approval at the sole discretion of HANOWA AG. Instances of non-approval could arise due to various reasons, including but not limited to, the expiration of the initial warranty period or inaccurately completed application forms. Further HANOWA AG may cancel your warranty extension for the same reasons that would entitle it to a denial, and for other reasons in its sole discretion, at any time and without notice. If you decide to cancel your warranty Extension, you may do so at any time by sending an email to info@hanowa.ch.

Limitations: SWISS MILITARY HANOWA emphasizes that the duration of the international warranty cannot exceed five years for any reason. The native manufacturer's warranty is initially established for three years, with the possibility of an additional two years' coverage for movement defects through online registration.

Consequences of Non-Registration: Customers who opt not to register their watch's warranty will witness the standard warranty expiring after three years, with no subsequent extension available.

Warranty Repairs: For the purpose of accessing warrantied repairs, customers are required to submit the appropriate warranty card, which must be accurately completed, dated, stamped, and endorsed by an authorized dealer. In the absence of this essential warranty card, the warranty service will be deemed null and void.

Exclusions: The extension in question does not encompass the following:

  • Defects that extend beyond manufacturer-related issues concerning the movement.
  • Defects and damages arising from events such as loss, theft, natural disasters (e.g., flood, earthquake, fire), or other force majeure events beyond our control.
  • Defects and damages resulting from misuse, negligence, or accidental occurrences.
  • Defects and damages originating from improper utilization, unauthorized services, or repairs conducted by entities other than an official SWISS MILITARY HANOWA aftersales service center.
  • Defects and damages incurred due to routine wear and tear.
  • Variations in watch accuracy within the boundaries of standard industry tolerances.
